National Public Radio’s 1A program interviewed the Precision and Intelligent Systems in Medicine Research Partnership (PRISMAP) lab director Azra Bihorac for a segment called “Where AI Helps and Hurts in Health Care.”
As part of the wide-ranging discussion, Dr. Bihorac told host Jenn White about the importance of prioritizing the human element of health care while using AI tools in medicine.
“I always say that patients come to a hospital to meet his or her doctor, he doesn’t come to meet an AI algorithm,” Dr. Bihorac said. “Everything we do is there to serve our patients and allow us to provide the best quality of care.”
