Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or predoctoral graduate degree program in a quantitative field such as computer science, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Commit to 20 hours per week on-site in the Biomedical AI Collaborative space at Malachowsky Hall, University of Florida. Note: This is a full-time internship and cannot be combined with rotations or other employment.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following areas is encouraged:
- Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications in Natural Language Processing
- Utilizing LLMs to enhance natural language understanding and generation in healthcare.
- Key Tools and Frameworks: OpenAI (ChatGPT, GPT-4), Hugging Face Transformers, Google’s BERT, Meta’s LLaMA.
- Technical Skills: Fine-tuning pre-trained models with PyTorch or TensorFlow for domain-specific tasks
- Building AI Agents with Adaptive and Autonomous Capabilities Developing AI agents capable of reasoning, decision-making, and adaptation in dynamic environments.
- Key Tools and Libraries: LangChain, Auto-GPT, and frameworks like OpenAI Gym
- Emerging Technologies: Digital Twins, Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR), and NVIDIA Omniverse Exploring cutting-edge technologies to create simulations and immersive experiences for intelligent medicine.
